By days

"Later" analyzed more than 25 million posts. It concluded that posts added at 6 a.m. on Sunday get the highest engagement. In the rest of the days, photos and videos also get more likes and comments if they are posted early in the morning.

We made a table where you can see the best time to post on Instagram. On the left, you choose a day when you want to add content to your profile. On the right, you see what hour you should upload it to get higher engagement.

On average, the best time to post on Instagram is on Tuesday at 11 a.m. to 14 p.m. The worst time is on Sunday. High user engagement is also noticed in posts published on Monday at 11 a.m.

Instagram Insights

General statistics may be a good jump-off point to figure out the time for your Insta profile. But user engagement differs around the world, and changes over time.

We see controversial figures in the research. So we have to experiment to figure out the best time. Try to post in the time recommended in the research results and then at different times. Compare and analyze the figures using Instagram Insights statistics.

The statistics are available in Professional accounts with more than 100 followers. Detailed review on the Insights section you can read here

In the IG Insights section, you can know more about your audience. Pay attention to Top Location and Most Active Times.

  • In Top Location, you can see what cities and countries your followers are from. Consider time zones if your posts are mostly viewed from countries abroad.
  • In Most Active Times, you can find information about when your followers are usually online. You have data by days and hours there. Use it to figure out the patterns.

For example, track a correlation between engagement and your subscribers activity. If they are increasing proportionally, it makes sense to post when the followers are online most often.

Track the engagement in the Interactions section. We wrote about it below.

Accounts Reached and Content Interactions

In the sections of Accounts Reached and Content Interactions, you see data about your whole audience, subscribed and not subscribed users.

  • In the Accounts Reached, you can learn how many people saw your photos and videos. You can see the numbers for each content type.
  • In the Content Interactions, you can see how many people liked and commented on your content. The numbers are also given for each content type.

You can change the period for the displayed data. The minimal time interval is 7 days.

Try different strategies every week. For example, first you post photos in the evening, the next week you do it in the morning. Compare weekly figures to find out the best time to post on Instagram precisely for your account.

To grow users reach and engagement, you should target users who haven't subscribed to you yet. For example, using tags. Read our guide on how and why you use them for IG account promotion.

The best time for commercial posts

Owners of business pages are also interested in the best time to post on Instagram about their product. You can figure it out using Taplink statistics.

In the Statistics section, you can see what day of the week users usually tap links and buttons to make purchases. In this time your audience is ready to buy, and ads or presentational posts in your profile will bring more results.

Don’t forget to write in posts or Stories that a product or service is available by link in bio. Sign up to make your Taplink page, it's free.

On the left, there is an example of a page you can create in 15 minutes. On the right, there is a screenshot from its statistics section. Users' activity is displayed on the graphs, below is information about the clicks in numbers, and conversions.
