What happened to Bento.me

Bento.me announced that it’s shutting down on February 13, 2026. This comes more than two years after the platform was acquired by Linktree.

Bento.me announced the shutdown on its website and also sent email notifications to users. Here’s how Sélim, Mugeeb, Valerie & Eike, the Bento.me team, said goodbye to its platform users:

“We’ve had the privilege of seeing so many of you create incredibly beautiful and creative Bentos and form a supportive and positive community. From the many playful widgets that the community hacked together with custom image components to creative arrangements of the grid that caught us by surprise, we were blown away each time. ❤️

However, the time has come for Bento to walk into the sunset. 🌅”

In their email, the Bento.me team explained what happens after February 13:

  • Users can’t log into their accounts.
  • All user-generated content is deleted.
  • The official Bento.me website isn’t available.

The team also shared instructions on how to save page content before the platform shuts down.

How to save your Bento.me page content

To make sure users don’t lose their page content, Bento.me encourages them to export it before February 13. They can do this in the page settings. Users will get a zip file with all images, videos, links, and copy from their pages on their devices.

Users can then add their content to a page created using another tool.

We recommend creating a new page as early as possible, without waiting for Bento.me to fully shut down. First of all, this gives you time to learn the new tool and test it. Moreover, right before a platform shuts down, they often have issues: exports may not download, the site may lag, and support may respond slowly.

We’ll discuss which tool would be a great alternative for Bento.me users next.
