Bento.me vs Linktree: Is switching to Linktree worth it?
Bento.me announced its closing on February 13, 2026, two years after Linktree acquired it. So we decided to figure out whether Linktree can actually replace Bento. We compared the content these tools let you add, their design options, and pricing. By the end, you’ll know if Linktree can really replace Bento, and if not, then which tool might be the best Bento.me alternative.
Bento.me used blocks instead of identical rectangular buttons. You could freely drag these blocks around and resize them. It made it easy to showcase photos, portfolio pieces, article previews, and build a creative page layout.
Bento was popular among artists, graphic designers, developers, and creators — anyone who had something to showcase on their page.

Linktree, on the other hand, is a traditional link in bio tool that creates buttons that look similar to each other.
Unlike Bento, Linktree doesn’t cater to a specific niche or target audience. Because of this versatility, Linktree doesn’t have a single defining style or theme. Instead, it provides a simple way to share multiple links in one place.

In Bento, the block options were very limited. They were limited to:
- Links.
- Text.
- Images.
- Video.
- Map.
In Linktree, the number of blocks is larger:
- Links.
- Text.
- Video.
- Music.
- Map.
- Form.
- FAQ.
- Digital products.

The main feature that really set Bento apart was its support for standalone images, a feature missing in Linktree. You can only attach images as thumbnails for links or as previews of digital products. However, you can’t upload separate photos to create a portfolio.
On one hand, Linktree lets you collect visitor data via forms or showcase your music. On the other hand, it comes at the cost of visual expressiveness.
Bento.me let you make blocks of various sizes and shapes: small, large, square, or rectangular. You could position them freely, enabling highly creative pages.
The main downside of Bento was that the design couldn’t be changed beyond the text background. As a result, all user pages had the same color scheme.
With Linktree, it’s the opposite: you can adjust the design, but the block layout options are limited.
In Linktree, you can customize the design in two ways:
- Using a theme: 26 ready-made themes are available.
- Manually: You can adjust the font, background, button and text colors, button rounding, and shadows.

As for block layouts, Linktree offers only two options: a standard button and a large square block. Moreover, you can make buttons square on paid plans only.
Besides the differences mentioned, Linktree offers additional features not available in Bento.me.
- Built-in analytics: You can track page views, link clicks, conversions, traffic sources, visitor locations and devices, as well as the number of subscribers who filled out a form on your Linktree page.
- QR code: Linktree generates a QR code when you create a page and allows you to download it.
- Monetization features: You can sell digital products like guides, courses, or e-books. However, there’s a fee depending on your plan, ranging from 0% to 12%.
- Footer removal: Paid plans allow you to remove the Linktree footer. Note, however, that the logo at the top of the page always remains on all plans.
- Extensions: You can add extensions for analytics, email marketing, and design.
Most of these features are part of paid plans, but many users may find them valuable. We’ll discuss free and paid features next.
Bento.me was always free, and this was another reason it attracted users.
Linktree, in contrast, offers one free plan and three paid plans:
- Free ($0): Includes all content blocks, several themes, basic design settings, view tracking, and support responses within 48 hours.
- Starter ($6/mo): Adds button animations, click, traffic sources, visitor location, and device data tracking; support responds within 24 hours.
- Pro ($12/mo): Provides access to all themes and design settings, subscriber and conversion tracking; support responds within 12 hours.
- Premium ($30/mo): Adds analytics export and the fastest support response time, which is within 4 hours.
