Posting time according to your Instagram audience

In the IG Insights section, you can know more about your audience. Pay attention to Top Location and Most Active Times.

  • In Top Location, you can see what cities and countries your followers are from. Consider time zones if your Instagram posts are mostly viewed from countries abroad.
  • In Most Active Times, you can find information about when your Instagram followers are usually online. You have data by days and hours there. Use it to figure out the patterns; thus you will find out the best time to post on Instagram for your profile.

For example, track a correlation between engagement and your subscribers activity. If they are increasing proportionally, it makes sense to post when your Instagram followers are online most often.

Track the engagement in the Interactions section. We wrote about it below.

Consider Accounts Reached and Content Interactions in your Instagram account

In the sections of Accounts Reached and Content Interactions, you see data about your whole Instagram audience, subscribed and not subscribed users.

  • In the Accounts Reached, you can learn how many people on Instagram saw your photos and videos. You can see the numbers for each content type.
  • In the Content Interactions, you can see how many people liked and commented on your Instagram posts. The numbers are also given for each content type.

You can change the period for the displayed Instagram data. The minimal time interval is 7 days.

Try different strategies every week. For example, first you post photos in the evening, the next week you do it in the morning. Compare weekly figures to find out the best time to post on Instagram precisely for your account.

To grow users reach and engagement, you should target users who haven't subscribed to you yet. For example, using tags. Read our guide on how and why you use them for IG account promotion.
